In a validated facility the documentation is part of the component. A fitting without its certificates cannot be installed, whatever its quality.

The requirement
What pharmaceutical & biopharm demand of a fitting
Pharmaceutical and biotech piping is qualified, not just installed. Purified water, water-for-injection and product-contact lines are built to a documented surface specification and then evidenced: material certificates, surface finish records and, where specified, weld documentation.
SS 316L with an electropolished internal surface is the working standard for product contact. Orbital welding and crevice-free joint design keep the internal surface continuous, because anywhere the surface is interrupted is somewhere that cannot be cleaned reliably.
Alongside the sanitary scope sits the instrument and utility piping that runs the plant: small-bore forged fittings, gauge and transmitter hookups, clean steam and compressed air.
IllustrationWhere these components sit
- Purified water and WFI distribution loops
- Product-contact and formulation transfer lines
- CIP and SIP circuits
- Clean steam and process gas distribution
- Instrument hookups and sampling points in forged Class 3000 / 6000
Specification points that matter here
- State the internal surface finish (Ra) and whether electropolishing is required
- Material certificates and surface finish documentation are part of the delivery
- Crevice-free, self-draining joint geometry throughout product contact
- Tri-clamp connections to ISO 2853 where dismantling for inspection is planned
- Confirm what weld and inspection documentation the qualification package requires
Ranges for this sector
What we supply into it
The categories most often specified for this service. Every one carries the full range behind it.
- Hygienic FittingsStainless steel hygienic fittings with smooth, crevice-free bores and clamp or union joints, for food, dairy and pharma lines that are cleaned in place.View the range
- Instrument FittingsTwin-ferrule tube fittings and valves that grip the tube as the nut is tightened, for leak-tight instrument connections without welding or threading.View the range
- Forged FittingsSocket weld and threaded fittings machined from solid forgings, for strong, compact joints on small-bore, high-pressure lines such as drains, vents and gauge points.View 15 products
