Piping components for refineries
Refinery piping runs hot, runs continuously, and is inspected. Components have to arrive with the documentation that lets them be signed into the line.

The requirement
What refineries demand of a fitting
Refinery service covers a wider range of conditions than almost any other plant: atmospheric and vacuum distillation, hydrotreating, reformer and utility circuits each impose different temperature, pressure and corrosion demands on the same nominal component.
Carbon steel to ASTM A234 covers most general and moderate-temperature service, with alloy grades where creep resistance or hydrogen service dictates. Material traceability is not optional; every fitting has to be reconcilable to a heat number and a test certificate at the point of inspection.
Turnaround work compresses all of this into a fixed window. That is where holding stock alongside manufacturing matters: a replacement elbow needed during a shutdown cannot wait on a production slot.
IllustrationWhere these components sit
- Crude and vacuum distillation overhead and transfer lines
- Hydrotreater and reformer circuits in alloy grades
- Utility steam, condensate and cooling water headers
- Flare and relief headers, where barred tees prevent pig entry
- Tank farm manifolds and pump suction arrangements
Specification points that matter here
- Long-radius elbows preferred throughout for lower pressure drop and erosion resistance
- Eccentric reducers, flat side up, at pump suctions to prevent air pockets
- Weld neck flanges rather than slip-on wherever the line is subject to thermal cycling
- Full material traceability and mill test certificates required at inspection
- Confirm whether IBR certification is required for the steam circuits in scope
Ranges for this sector
What we supply into it
The categories most often specified for this service. Every one carries the full range behind it.
- Buttweld FittingsButtweld elbows, bends, tees, reducers and caps welded end to end with the pipe, for a joint as strong as the pipe itself and a smooth, leak-free bore.View 14 products
- FlangesFlanges that make a bolted, gasketed joint at equipment, valves and spool breaks, so a line can be opened again for isolation, inspection or replacement.View 22 products
- SpoolPrefabricated piping spools assembled from pipe, fittings and flanges to the customer's drawings, to cut site welding and installation time.View the range
- Instrument FittingsTwin-ferrule tube fittings and valves that grip the tube as the nut is tightened, for leak-tight instrument connections without welding or threading.View the range
- GratingsHot-dip galvanized steel gratings for walkways, platforms and trench covers, to carry foot traffic while letting light, air and liquids pass through.View the range
