Technical notes
How the component behaves in the line, and the details to settle before an order is placed.
How it behaves in the line
- Single butt weld (no inside fillet): full-penetration, radiographable joint
- Tapered hub distributes load gradually from flange ring to pipe
- The matching bore of the hub must equal the pipe bore exactly (schedule-specific)
- Preferred for gas, steam, and critical hydrocarbon service per most specifications
- RTJ (Ring Type Joint) facing available for Class 600 and above
Confirm when ordering
- Specify class AND bore schedule: e.g. Class 150 Weld Neck, Sch 40 bore
- RTJ or RF facing: confirm gasket type before ordering
- NACE MR0175 compliance for sour service
Dimensions, wall thicknesses and pressure classes are in the dimension tables; the governing standards are summarised on the standards reference.
